2017 was a very special year for desert wild flowers in the Anza Borrego Desert. Following numerous, ideally spaced rain events in the lower deserts
the entire region was transformed from the normal shades of desert brown to a lush green carpet of new vegetation followed by amazing varieties of flowers
blossoming for several weeks. The photos below were taken during daily off-road Jeep rides around the Anza Borrego Desert during this
"2017 Anza Borrego Superbloom" event.
